Sugar Minott, starts off the show with 'Trying To Fool I', from his Uptempo Showcase album, done over a classic Studio 1 riddim. Al Campbell, is up next with one of his finest 12" releases ever, 'Foot Stool' The vocal-group, Mystic Eyes gives us 'Linger Awhile', featuring some mighty fine vocals from Anthony Johnson. We then check Michael Prophet, and 'Love And Unity' with a wild dubmix from Scientist. Bob Marley, the king of Reggae steps forward with 'Trench Town' and a extended version to boot! Lee Perry does his signature tune, 'I Am The Upsetter' with DJ Dennis Alcapone following, toasting over the riddim. We then hear from the Two Ton Machine and the title track to their 1984 album, 'Chinatown'. Two Ton Machine led by Burning Spear drummer Nelson Miller. To end side A, we hear one from singer Cornell Campbell-'Jah Jah Gives Us Love', from the LP 'Cornell Campbell meets the Gaylads with Sly & Robbie' on the Culture Press label. "Okay Okay, Let's Take From Here!" With those words Lee 'Scratch' Perry, himself starts off this edition of the Reggae Explosion. Originally broadcast on August 20th 2005. You hear Pappa Dave mention, that this show is actually part two of the Lee Perry tribute shows, with part one having taken place on June 11th 2005. The show focuses on Lee Perry's production work from the late 60's through the mid 70's. The first set starts with 'Touch of Fire' by the Upsetters and then 'Honey Love' by Burt Walters, Lee Perry follows up with 'People Funny fi True','Mule Train' by the Upsetters is next,and to end the first set another by Lee Perry comes up 'Eight for Eight'. Horns man Val Bennett begins the second set, giving us a taste of his singing ability with 'Barbara',next we hear from the vocal-group, the West Indians featuring the great Jamaican singer Eric Donaldson, giving us 'Oh Lord'. 'Shocks of Mighty', by the great Dave Barker follows and then two from the mighty Upsetters, 'Pick Folk Kinkiest' and 'Cold Sweat'. To end up the second set,the vocal-group the Versatiles featuring vocals from Junior Byles and 'The Thanks We Get'. The Bleechers, begin the third set with,'Pound Get A Blow'. 'Tender Love',by the Untouchables comes up next followed by 'I Wear My Slanders' by the Gaylads. We check Ernest Wilson, giving us 'Freedom Train' and to end the last set and side A of the tape,'No Bread and Butter', by singer Milton Henry.
